BREWTON — A showdown between Auburn and Alabama fans is coming early this year. Covenant Hospice is excited to announce Football Fever:  Crimson Tide VS. Tiger Pride.  Football Fever is a drawing and tailgate event for the ultimate Alabama fan package and the ultimate Auburn package.

The Alabama package includes a football autographed by 2009 National Champion Coach Nick Saban, two tickets to the 2011 Alabama vs. Vanderbilt game on Oct. 8, a cooler and two stadium seats.  The Auburn package includes a football autographed by 2010 National Champion Coach Gene Chizik, two tickets to the 2011 Auburn vs. Mississippi State game on Sept. 10, a cooler and two stadium seats.

The drawings will be held at the tailgate party from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 19 at Wow Café and Wingery in Brewton.  The event is free and open to the community. Participants do not have to be present to win and those who attend are encouraged to wear their Alabama or Auburn gear.  Any remaining tickets will be sold at the event prior to the drawing.

“We were so pleased with the success of the Bama Fever event last year, and wanted to expand it to include a drawing for the Auburn fans,” said Jackie Crews, development manager for Covenant Hospice.

Football Fever tickets are only $5 each or 5 for $20 and can be purchased at the following locations:  Covenant Hospice, Wow Café and Wingery, Jus Do, the Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce, the Old Cozy Café, the Andalusia Chamber of Commerce, the Opp Chamber of Commerce and the Atmore Chamber of Commerce.

“For those who have experienced Covenant’s care, they understand the profound impact it has on a family and what a difference it makes to have that support at such a difficult time,” said Crews. “Fundraisers like Football Fever, will enable us to continue our mission and give the gift of hospice care to all those who need in it in our community.”
