After regaining possession of the ball, Autauga added more points to the board with a TD and two-point conversion, with just shy of five minutes left in the second quarter, putting them up 21-6.
Crenshaw Christian went three and out and turned the ball over to Autauga.
The Generals made a touchdown on a kick off return and a good PAT, making the score 28-6.
CCA’s Alex King set up the next score, with a 40-yard gain for great field position.
Cougars quarterback Trent McGough hit Dalton Weeks on a fourth and 10 for a touchdown pass, for the Cougars’ last score of the game.
The Generals moved the ball down field with the pass play to score another TD making the score 34-12 at the break.
In the second half, Autauga didn’t allow CCA to hit the end zone, but put up two touchdowns.
After several exchanges of the ball in the third, Autauga found the end zone, putting them up 40-12.
A CCA punt, gave the Generals great field position, and they drove the ball in for their last touchdown and extra point of the night, with 10:29 left in the game.
Coach Jackson said, “We knew going into this game of their speed and size being their strength would be a factor.”
CCA plays host to Coosa Valley next Friday night.
