The Greenville Chevron staff members is selling $1 chances for an Easter basket filled with Easter candy, bunnies and toys at its location on the corner of the Greenville Bypass and Fort Dale Road. The money will be donated to the Greenville Animal Shelter to help raise funds for improvements to the facility. Another basket is also being given away at the Bypass Spur station.
Greenville Chevron owners, Pete and Becky Coon, have held this fundraiser to benefit the shelter for several years and want to encourage everyone to come by and purchase their chance to win the basket.
The drawings for the baskets will be held Friday, April 18.
Greenville Chevron employee Jan Newton was the store’s highest chance seller last year, raising approximately $400 for the cause.
&uot;It’s fun, and is such a worthwhile project,&uot; Newton said. &uot;I think it’s a great way to help the animals at the shelter. I’m glad to help out.&uot;
&uot;We are just interested in raising as much money as we can for the animal shelter,&uot; Becky said. &uot;It’s a very important cause for our business. We encourage other businesses to participate by holding fundraisers to benefit the shelter. It really needs our help.&uot;
