Investigation continues in Friday night shooting

Law enforcement agents are still investigating a shooting that occurred Friday around 11:45 a.m. on Highway 31 North.
The shooting, which took place around Perry Hill Road in Greenville, occurred when the suspect fired into the back of a gray 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass which was northbound on Highway 31.
The victim, 29-year-old Timothy Jones of Calhoun, Ala., was shot in the shoulder by a subject in the vehicle behind the Cutlass. According to the report, there were several bullet holes in the trunk of the Cutlass and the back windshield was shot out.
The victim was transported to L. V. Stabler Memorial Hospital for treatment of the gunshot wound.
Butler County Chief Sheriff's Deputy Kenny Harden said warrants had been signed on a suspect and the incident is still under investigation by the Butler County Sheriff's Office.
The suspect will be charged with assault, first degree.
