"Starting on August 1 and lasting until August 15, we will take registration for youth softball and baseball programs during the hours of 9 a.m. through 5 p.m., at our Beeland Park Recreation office," Harris said on Friday. "Those parents interested in enrolling their child or children in the program should bring proof of the child's age with them, and also proof of health insurance."

Harris said although insurance coverage is required, those wishing to participate that do not have private insurance may purchase recreation insurance at the time of registration, for $7.50 per child.
