Officers with the Greenville Police Department are visiting local businesses and encouraging the owners and managers to close their doors early due to the winter storm that has hit Butler County.

“We are recommending that they close so their employees can get home safely,” said Chief Lonzo Ingram.

As the county has been hit with a wintry mix — a combination of freezing rain and snow — roadways have become dangerous to travel.
