Women’s Conference “Carry Your Candle”

As announced in 2020, the Women for Christ ministry will celebrate its finale event on March 20, at 10:00 a.m. It will be aired on Facebook Live on the Women for Christ Facebook page.  The speaker will be Kim Hendrix who was the very first conference speaker in 2007 and again in 2010.  The worship leader will be Haley Spates Houston who led the music in 2013 and 2014.  The theme is “Carry Your Candle,” based upon Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”  The desire of the Women for Christ Steering Committee is to glorify God by finishing well in their service to women who are a part of this interdenominational fellowship.

While committee members are sad that they will not have their traditional annual conference as they had originally planned, they will nevertheless celebrate God’s blessings and favor to the Women for Christ ministry. The decision to have a virtual event was made after much prayer, trusting God to direct their steps as He has faithfully done for 15 years,

“We have no doubt that our speaker Kim Hendrix and worship leader Haley Spates Houston will lead our celebration in a way that will glorify God and bless the women who participate in this one-hour finale event. They understand our love for the women we serve and our desire to see ministry to women grow and glow in their churches and communities,” says Ann Tate, chairman of the Women for Christ Steering Committee.

There is no charge to view and participate in this virtual event.  Churches are encouraged to get creative in the way they can assemble safely at their churches or in other groups.  If Facebook users are unable to watch the finale live on March 20, the video will remain on the Crenshaw County Women for Christ Facebook page, and viewers can watch and share it later at their convenience.

Members of the Women for Christ Steering Committee are Tracy Baines, Shantel Barginere, Angela Carpenter, Helen Daniels, Linda Hogwood, Shanna Malone, Nancy Petrey, Debbie Roberts, Jackie Smith, Kathy Smyth, Ann Tate, Veronica Wiley, and Glenda Yancey.  Their hope is that, while women will not be together in one location, participation will be multiplied in many locations.
