Downtown trick or treating is back

By Haley Mitchell Godwin

On Thursday, Oct. 28, from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., the city of Greenville and the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce will host the annual downtown trick-or-treat event. Last year’s annual event was a little different due to COVID but this year local businesses will once again be set up around the downtown area, handing out treats. There will be games, jumpy houses, face painting, balloon art, music and more.

Tracy Salter, executive director of the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce, said the event offers a safe and convenient environment for trick or treating and provides an opportunity to bring businesses and the people of the community together.

“We invite everyone to come out and enjoy the festivities. Having trick or treating in one central location makes this activity easily accessible for children and families in the community. Many can walk downtown and for others it is just a short drive to reach all the fun. This is a big family friendly event, and everything is free. We want everyone to come see what the event has to offer,” Salter said.

For more information or to sign your business up to pass out treats, email the chamber at chamber@greenville-alabama.com, contact them via Facebook message, or call 382-3251. The deadline to reserve a spot for your business is Friday, Oct. 22 by 5 p.m.
