McKenzie gets ‘touched’

Saturday night will be a big night for the members of the McKenzie community as McKenzie School presents &uot;A Touch of Broadway – the McKenzie Way.&uot;

Big stars, such as Dolly Parton, Aretha Franklin and Elvis, will be the headliners for the show.

The performance will be Saturday night, 7 p.m. until, at the McKenzie school auditorium. Sponsored by the McKenzie School Student Government Association, the show will consist of skits, songs and other various performances by students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

The performances are coordinated by McKenzie first grade teacher and SGA sponsor Carol Williams.

The event is an SGA fundraiser and will cost $3 per person.

&uot;It’s just a good time,&uot; McKenzie Principal Randy Williams said. &uot;We used to do it all the time, but we haven’t done it in four years. We have a lot of excellent student participation. It’s a big night for parents, and is a great parent involvement program for the school.&uot;
