Fort Dale edges Tuscaloosa

Fort Dale Academy shot nearly 50 percent and had three players score in double figures en route to a 57-53 win against Tuscaloosa Academy Saturday in Greenville.

Tyler Millo paced Fort Dale with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field. Cam Norman, who connected on 4-of-7 attempts from the field and 2-of-4 attempts from beyond the 3-point arc, scored 12 points and recorded five steals. Wesley Scott chipped in 10 points and was 4-for-5 from the free-throw line.

Chip Taylor just missed scoring in double figures. He finished with nine points.

The Eagles (17-6, 7-1) outscored Tuscaloosa 24-9 in the third period to overcome a 28-17 halftime deficit and notch the win against the Knights, who are coached by former Fort Dale standout and one-time head coach William Johnson.

Hooper 72, FDA 61

Hooper Academy defeated Fort Dale 72-61 Friday night to claim a share of the region crown.

The Eagles were previously unbeaten in region play, including an overtime win against the Colts.

Jack Bates and Scott led Fort Dale with 14 points each. Taylor added 12 points and eight rebounds in the loss.
