Residents of Lake Haven Assisted Living celebrated Halloween the week before the official date.

One day Ms. Sylvia's fourth grade from CCA visited . They read autumn poems in unison and presented a bag of treats to each resident. The group was accompanied by Alice Curtis who help the students with crafts.

On Oct. 28, the residents and staff members dressed in Halloween costumes, wings and hats for the day. At 10:30 a.m., the residents were treated again with a class from CCA. Ms. Patricia Massey's second grade came in Halloween costumes as witches, queens, dragons and much more. The second graders presented each resident with a plant of Johnny-Jump-Ups. They also

entertained by singing several songs.

The students enjoyed the "Go Fishing" booth and went screaming and squealing to the haunted house where they received special treats from the witch.

Another fun time was the judging of the residents costumes by Becky Smyth. Minnie Thagard won first place dressed as a convict, Day Pinckard placed second, dressed as a witch and the best overall costume was won by Dick Bryan, a 90-yea-old man, who refuses to grow up. He was dressed as a very young boy.

After the judging of costumes the residents visited the "Go Fishing " booth and the haunted House and played games. Then they were serve refreshments in the dining room.

On Saturday, Alice Curtis brought "Trick or Treat" bags to all residents from the children of Glenwood Methodist Church.

The Women's Ministry at South Luverne Baptist held a special service on Nov. 7 during their weekly Bible study, "Jesus, The One and Only."

The SLBC Women's Drama Team presented a very moving drama about the sinful woman who came to Jesus with her Alabaster Box. The drama featured Ashley, Tammy and Bee Gee McManigle and Shelby Welch. A group of ladies, "The Voices of Praise," from Ft. Deposit blessed every one with their talent of singing during the drama presentation. "The Voices of Praise," who sing with great harmony also rendered special music for the evening worship service.

Beulah Ross Hall recently celebrated her 90th birthday with a party given by several members of the Glenwood Community at the Glenwood Center.

Those helping were Sally Smith of Brantley, Annette B. Mount, Mary Sexton, Alice Curtis, Wayne and Sylvia Gibson, Boyd and Sandra Berry, Mary West, Frances Hughes and Cindy Lester.

The party room was decorated with festive d/cor and flowers. An array of finger foods were served.

Mrs. Hall was presented with a Town Proclamation declaring it Beulah Ross Hall Day by Mayor Dan Jackson.

There were over 95 registered guests from various communities such as Glenwood, Goshen, Brantley, Luverne, Tarentum, Rutledge, Troy, Enterprise, Petrey, Andalusia, Birmingham, Montgomery and Eufaula; Louisville, KY and Nashville, Tenn.

The family wishes to thank each and everyone for making Beulah Ross Hall Day one which will always be in their hearts.
