Lady Tigers pound Hayneville, improve to 3-0

A 25-point effort by Shakireyonna Rudolph helped power the Greenville Middle School girls’ basketball team to a 42-14 win against Hayneville Monday night.

With the win, the Lady Tigers improved to 3-0 on the season.

Tamara Bedgood scored 10 points in the win, while Destinee Smith chipped in 7. Takira Walker scored 4 points, Whitney Jones added 2 and Eboni Etheridge tallied 1 point.

Greenville opened its season with a 51-17 win over J.F. Shields on Oct. 17.

Rudolph scored 25 points to pace the Lady Tigers in that contest. Etheridge added four points.

A week later, the Lady Tigers again topped J.F. Shields, this time by a count of 38-13.

Smith was Greenville’s leading scorer with 14 points. Rudolph chipped in 8 points.

The GMS Tigers also improved to 3-0 with a 62-32 win against Hayneville.

Chardarious Davidson led the way with 21 points, while Marlon Davidson added 18.

The Tigers topped J.F. Shields 43-21 in their opener and 46-18 a week later on Oct. 24.

Marques Grace scored 16 to pace GMS in its opener, while Kionte McGrew chipped in 7.

Grace and Charles Warren led the Tigers in game two with 10 points each.

Greenville will be back in action Thursday when it hits the road for a showdown with Lowndes. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
