Sweet Home Baptist Church of McKenzie, AL,

will host its 2nd Annual Women of Faith Get Together on August 12 at 6 pm. Tickets are $5, and may be purchased by calling 374-2560 (day) or 374-2389 (night). Class of 1985

The Greenville High School Class of 1985 will hold a meeting on August 13 at 6 p.m. at the Greenville Chamber of Commerce Depot, downtown Greenville.

Fill the Boot

The Greenville Fire Department will be out on the hot pavement in front of Fred's on Aug. 13 and Aug. 27 holding out their boots to be filled for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The proceeds will be used locally for individuals

suffering with neuromuscular diseases.

They will be collecting from 9 a.m. to noon on those two days.

Love’s Way Concert

The Workmen Quarter with J.G. Whitfield will appear in concert at Love’s Way Methodist Church, Saturday evening, August 13, 2005. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. and refreshments will be served following the event. No admission is charged, but a love offering will be taken. The church is located on Butler County Highway 15, five miles north of State Hwy. 106. Join us for a great evening of worship.

Special Christian Meeting

Mixonville Community Church invites everyone to attend a special meeting to hear the message of Pastor Doug Abner of Manchester Community Church of Clay County, Ky. Special singing will be provided by the Grace Harvest Youth Praise Team from Dothan and also the Jubilee Trio.

Arhleger performances

Jerry Arhleger, a Nashville songwriter/musician and evangelist, will be performing at four venues this weekend in the county. Arhelger will perform at the &uot;Fun Day at the Greenville Airport&uot; fundraiser for Pilots for Christ on Saturday morning, between 9 a.m. and noon; on Saturday afternoon, at the Watermelon Jubilee at 3 p.m.; on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. at First Baptist of Georgiana’s service at the Ga-Ana Theatre at 10:30 a.m., and on Sunday night at 6 p.m. at the Call to Life Christian Center in Greenville.

Workmen Quartet

The Workmen Quartet with J.G. Whitfield will appear in concert at Love's Way Methodist Church on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 7 p.m. with refreshments to follow.

A love offering will be taken.

The church is located on County Road 15, five miles north of Highway 106.

Singspiration

The Greenville Church of God, 407 S. Conecuh St., cordially invites everyone to join the church for The Hendersons from Milton, Fla.

Forest Home Baptist Church

Homecoming and revival services are slated at Forest Home Baptist Church beginning Sunday, August 14, during the 11 a.m. service, with lunch to follow. Nightly services are scheduled Monday-Wednesday, Aug. 15-17, at 6:45 p.m. Guest speaker is Rev. Ronnie Boulware, pastor of Antioch East Baptist Church in Greenville. Special music will be performed at each service. The public is cordially invited to attend.

150th Homecoming Celebration

New Ebenezer Baptist Church of Highland Home will observe its 150th Homecoming Celebration on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005 with worship services at 10:30 a.m.

There will be no Sunday School that morning.

Gary Swafford of the The Baptist Convention will be the guest speaker.

Lunch will be served afterwards in the fellowship hall.

At 1:30 there will be a singing and PowerPoint presentation of pictures throughout the years of the church in the beautiful new sanctuary.

21st Century Afterschool ProgramThe Butler County Board of Education will be offering a 21st Century Afterschool Program for K-8th grade students Monday-Friday until 5 p.m. at W.O. Parmer, Greenville Elementary, and at the Education and Community Center for Greenville Middle School students. Certified teachers assist with homework and offer learning activities which are fun and educational. Tuition is $25 per month. Registration forms are available at each of the sites.
