Frances Ann Redden and John Burns Morris Jr. were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. on April 9, 2005 at South Highland Presbyterian Church in Birmingham.

The Rev. Dr. Edwin Gray Hurley and the Hon. Judge John Walthal Jones Jr., grandfather of the groom, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Frank Redden Sr., of Alpharetta, Ga. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Caldwell Lancaster of Marietta and Frances Crenshaw Redden and the late Roland Cobb Redden of Fort Deposit.

The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. John Burns Morris Sr. He is the grandson of Judge and Mrs. John Walthal Jones Jr. and Mrs. Clay Burns Morris, and the late Charles Henry Morris Sr., all of Selma.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a custom-made gown by Melissa Sweet in diamond-white silk satin organza. The strapless A-line gown was accented with an envelope neckline and empire waist.

The skirt was detailed with vertical silk satin organza flounces that extended to the hem and the train of the gown. The bride also wore a two-tiered cathedral-length tulle veil that extended beyond the train of her gown.

To accent the veil, she carried a hand-tied bouquet of white roses, white freesia, and white sweet peas accented with vibarnum and crystals. The bouquet featured an heirloom handkerchief made by her grandmother, Bessie Farrior Crenshaw.

Laura Elizabeth Morris, sister of the groom, was the bride's maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Sara Elizabeth Bailey, Mindy Dekle Bennett, Katherine Elizabeth Granum, Julie Marie Bryan, Maryn Mason Cox, Kristen Elaine Fredrickson, Ellen Crenshaw Johnson, Joy Blocker Jonas, Kimberly Colleen McKellar, Brook Marie McNamee and Malloy Aman Wilson.

They wore formal-length kiwi green skirts with diamond white strapless tops accented with a hot pink sash, all of dupioni silk.

Each bridesmaid carried a hand-tied French bouquet of pink roses in various shades with accents of pink sweet peas and lime green berries.

The groom's father, John Burns Morris Sr., served as best man. The groomsmen were Burton Leland Brooks, Joseph Richard Dillon Jr., William Dustin Granberry. Randon Morris Hicks, John Scott Hughes, Jefferson Morris Jones, Robinson Hunter Judy, John Graham Kirkpatrick, Robert Bradley McGuirt, brother of the bride, Raymond Frank Redden Jr. and Robert Hilland Senn III.

Emily Ann Kay and Evelyn Marie Kay of Brentwood, Tenn., cousins of the bride, served as flower girls. They wore handmade, tea-length white Swiss batiste dresses, accented with French lace and ribbon. In their hair, the girls wore white roses and freesia accented with small green berries. Between them, they carried a garland in shades of pink and green, trimmed with white satin ribbon.

The ring bearer was William Crawford Aaron of

Montgomery, cousin of the groom. He wore a white batiste shorts outfit with tatting on the collar.

Acolytes were the bride's cousins, Taylor LeMaster Karr and Cristopher Parker Karr, both of Stuart, Fla.

The program attendants were Catherine Blaire Wood and Elizabeth Stringer Wood, cousins of the groom, and Kelly Ann Davis and Katie Keith Norman, friends of the bride. Kay Tidwell and Burke Buster were soloists.

A sunset reception at The Club followed the ceremony. The bridal party and guests enjoyed dining and dancing to the band "Accent." After a wedding trip to the Mayan Riveria, the couple are at home in Birmingham.
