In keeping with the Alabama Career Technical Education Month Communication Plan as set forth by Alabama State Superintendent Joseph B. Morton, the Director of the Crenshaw County Career Technical Program, Tony Stallworth, coordinated a month of celebration scheduled for February 1-28, 2009. Career-technical teachers at Brantley School, Highland Home School, and Luverne School filled the February calendar with career-technical events and competitions for the students in their various programs.

The highlight of the month was the presentation made by Crenshaw County Schools Superintendent Kathi Wallace of the Career and Technical Education Month Proclamation.

In the company of Mr. Stallworth and career-technical teachers and students from throughout the county, Mrs. Wallace read the Proclamation in its entirety to the members of the Crenshaw County Board of Education for their acceptance.

The vote was unanimous and the proclamation designating February 1-28, 2009, as Career and Technical Education Month was declared.

Included in the proclamation was the recognition that one out of every two high school students in Alabama currently participates in a career and technical education program.
