Fannie Lou Gallops Nichols

NICHOLS, Mrs. Fannie Lou Gallops, 94, a resident of Luverne died Thursday, May 7, 2009. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2009 from the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Derrick Sowell officiating. Interment followed in the Brunson Chapel Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by her husband, George G. Nichols and two sons, Joseph Nichols and James Nichols. Survivors include seven children, Roy (Lovie) Nichols of Brantley, Frances (Joe) Noble of Luverne, Robert (Ginger) Nichols of Slidell, La., Doug (Charlotte) Nichols of Arab, Paul (Ruby) Nichols of Luverne, Sue (Roy) Murray of Montgomery and Peggy (Brian) Trout of Philadelphia, Miss.; twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-eight great- grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Jason Noble, David Noble, Vince Knauer, Lavon Bees, Dave Grissett and Grant Nichols.

Odessa Richburg Golden

GOLDEN, Mrs. Odessa Richburg, 89, a resident of Enterprise died Tuesday, May 12, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 15, at the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Shults officiating. Interment will follow in the Darien Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Golden was preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Georgia Nichols Richburg; three sisters, Irene McLeod, Loreana McLeod and Mary Hardy; and two brothers, Alfred Richburg and Arthur Richburg. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Douglas and Annette Golden of Enterprise; two grandchildren, Michael Golden of Enterprise and Jennifer (Glen) Brown of Cottonwood; two great- grandchildren; two sisters, Ina (James) Fuller of Montgomery and Voncille Nichols of Luverne; one brother, Alton (Virginia) Richburg of Goshen; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Her nephews will serve as active pallbearers.

Sarah Jeanette Lunsford

Mrs. Sarah Jeanette Lunsford, age 69, of Rose Hill died Monday, May 11, 2009 in a Mobile hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 14, at Good News Chapel with the Rev. Jay Driver officiating. Special music will be provided by the Driver Family and Rev. Gary Holloway. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy E. Lunsford of Rose Hill; daughters and sons-in-law, Velinda Lunsford of Rose Hill, Sherry Mears (Larry) Sorrells of Rose Hill, Marta Mears (Bobby) Godwin of Rose Hill, Judy Lunsford (Tom) Jones of Florala; sons and daughters-in-law, Perry (KimberLynn) Mears, Jr. of Rose Hill, Terry Lee Mears of Rose Hill, Bruce E. (Karen) Lunsford of Rose Hill, Larry D. Lunsford of Rose Hill, Teddy D. (Everetta) Lunsford of Rose Hill; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Jessie (Billy) Bennett of Trinity, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank (Shirley) Charlton, Jr. of Rose Hill, Charles (Lillian) Charlton of Tuscaloosa, Richard (Bonnie) Charlton of Pascagoula, Miss., Danny (Marilyn) Charlton of Pascagoula, Miss.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tashea Jeanette Hammett.

Johnnie Lou Wambles, 93, of Troy died Friday, May 1, 2009 at a Luverne Nursing Facility. Funeral services were held Monday, May 4, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Burial followed in the Ramah Cemetery in Josie with Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing. Mr. Wambles was preceded in death by son, Johnnie Wambles Jr., 2 grandchildren, Paul Wambles, and Christopher Odierno, his wives, Gladys Rogers Wambles and Mary Emma Black Wambles.
