Eagles notch first victory of season

Fort Dale Academy notched its first win of the season Saturday by topping Northside Methodist Academy 3-0 in Dothan.

The Eagles staked claim to an early lead when James Choi found the back of the net just 14 seconds into the contest. It proved to be the game-winner and the only goal of the first half.

Cole Davis gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead with 3:40 remaining in the game when he scored on a breakaway, and Joseph Reaves capped the scoring when he redirected a pass from Tyler Gibson past the goalkeeper with 2:10 left in the game.

Fort Dale tallied 12 shots on goal during the contest while holding Northside Methodist to just six shots on goal.

Fort Dale goalkeeper Taylor Thomas recorded the shutout with six saves.

Fort Dale is now 1 – 1.

The Eagles faced off with Autauga Academy on Tuesday in Autaugaville. Results were not available at press time. They will host Coosa Valley on Thursday.

The Lady Eagles will play at 4 p.m. with the Eagles set to play at 6 p.m.
