Just one week after accepting a position as Greenville High School’s athletic director, head football coach, and teacher, Brian Seymore has announced he will step down from that position and remain with Demopolis High School.

Seymore, who accepted the Greenville position on April 3 after six years at Demopolis High. As Greenville’s athletic director, he replaced Patrick Browning who took a job with Alabama State University.

“After much thought, consideration, and due to personal reasons, I will walk away from the opportunity to be the next head football coach and athletic director at Greenville High School,” Seymour told AL.com Monday. “I want to thank the Butler County Board of Education, Superintendent Mr. Joe Eiland, and principal Mr. Jamie Howard for their professionalism and courtesy. I am wishing Greenville High School the best in their future endeavors and much success in their 2023 football campaign. My immediate plans are to remain at Demopolis High.”
