Greenville BancorpSouth robbed; suspect sought
Just before noon, the Greenville branch of BancorpSouth located at 1028 Fort Dale Rd., just off Interstate 65 near Krystal, was robbed.
Greenville Police Department Chief Justin Lovvorn said the suspect, an older black male, did not brandish a weapon, but instead passed a note to a teller demanding money. It is not known how much money was stolen.
A BOLO (be on the lookout) has been issued to state law enforcement agencies. The suspect fled the scene in a “dirty” gray Toyota Corolla. It is unknown his direction of travel.
There were no injuries reported.
The bank is currently closed while the investigation continues. It is unknown whether it will reopen today.
