Troy University is making its perennial pit stop in the Camellia City during Thursday’s Trojan Tour event, followed by the Jimmy Gardner Golf Tournament that afternoon.

Troy head coaches and administrators are on the road once again this summer for the fifth annual Trojan Tour, which features six stops across two states, including a stop Thursday at Greenville’s Cambrian Ridge beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Featured guests on this year’s Trojan Tour include athletic director Jeremy McClain and football head coach Neal Brown.

Each of the stops provides an opportunity for Trojan fans to interact one-on-one with Troy head coaches and administrators, in addition to hearing all of the latest on Troy athletics straight from the horses’ mouths.

A question-and-answer session between fans and Troy staff ends the tour at 1 p.m., but the action will then transfer to the greens for the 2017 Butler County Troy Alumni Jimmy Gardner Memorial Golf Tournament.

The tournament, named in honor of longtime Butler County Troy Alumni Association contributor and Greenville native Jimmy Gardner, is slated for 1 p.m. with registration and driving ranges opening at 10 a.m.

The four-man scramble will offer prizes for first, second and third-place teams, as well as special prizes for longest drive.

The entry fee is $100 per person, and hole sponsorships are also available for $100.
