Lady Eagles remain in the win column

The Fort Dale junior varsity girls upset the Morgan Senators 35-23 on Tuesday on the Eagles home court.

Lady Eagles kept it close in the first quarter as they scored 8 points and Senators dropped in 7.

In the second quarter, the Eagles were able to only score two baskets and two from the free throw line-making 6 additional points, but managed to hold Senators to 5 points-ending the half 14-12.

After the half, the Eagles had a fresh burst of energy as Emma Jo Thomas added to the lead with 2 baskets and one at the free throw line.  Kaylin Gregory followed suit with two baskets and Mary Katherine Salter improved the score to 25-18.

The Eagles finished off the Senators in the fourth quarter with Salter , Cahley Acreman, Jamie Pickens and  Avery Royal,each adding baskets- ending the game 35-23.

Kaylin Gregory led the pack with 10 points; Emma Jo Thomas followed suit with 7 points, and  Jamie Pickens added 6 points. The Eagles were 30 percent at free throw line.

The Varsity Lady Eagles also managed to rack up a win in a big way by overcoming the Morgan Senators 55-22 as they improved their season record to 14-2.

Lucy Bates led the Lady Eagles with 14 points and 10 rebounds;  Anna Blake Langford trailed with 14 points, and 7 rebounds; Madison Langford added 10 points and 2 assists, and  Tucker Whiddon 5 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
