A 19-year-old man is in custody following a shooting in the Mt. Zion Community Wednesday night.

Aquintis Jamaiquan McDole has been arrested and charged with attempted murder. He is being held in the Butler County Correctional Facility.

The victim is a 29-year-old man who was transported to a Montgomery hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released his name.

“There was an altercation in the house and (McDole) was pushed out of the house,” Butler County Sheriff Kenny Harden said. “He came back with a gun and shot the victim.”

Harden said the incident is still under investigation.
