Steve Flowers greets Col. Eric O. Cates during a book signing Tuesday night at High Horse Gallery. Flowers recently penned “Of Goats and Governors, Six Decades of Alabama Political Stories.”

The book is a collection of stories from Flowers’ time in the House of Representatives, as well as accounts that were told to Flowers by others.

Cates, a combat veteran of both World War II and Korea, was the representative of District 84 in the Alabama House of Representatives.
