Fort Dale Academy senior Trent Brooks kicked his way to Player of the Week honors.
Brooks was named AL.com’s Montgomery Football Player of the Week after he booted a 37-yard field goal on the final play of regulation to send the Eagles’ game with Autauga Academy into overtime.
Brooks then split the uprights on an extra-point attempt in overtime to lift the Eagles to a 55-54 win over the General on Sept. 20.
Brooks received nearly 84 percent of the votes in AL.com’s online voting. He beat out Smiths Station High School’s Devonte Marshall, Lowndes Academy’s Cody Harrell, Tallassee High School’s Herman McKenzie and Reeltown High School’s Devonta Ferrill for the honor.
