FDA climbs into top five

A 45-38 win over Coosa Valley Academy Friday night has helped Fort Dale Academy inch up in the latest Alabama Sportswriters Association football poll.
The Eagles (2-0, 1-0 Class AAA, Region 2) moved from No. 6 to No. 5.
Fort Dale is ranked behind Edgewood Academy, Tuscaloosa Academy, Restoration Academy and Pickens Academy.
Edgewood received 30 of the polls 32 first-place votes, while Tuscaloosa received two first place votes.
Monroe Academy, who FDA will face on Sept. 27, is ranked sixth.
Macon-East Academy, Bessemer Academy, Clarke Prep and Patrician Academy round out the top 10.
No other Butler County teams were ranked in the poll.
