Circuit Judge Terri Bozeman Lovell received a 300-hour certificate from Alabama Chief Justice Roy S. Moore at the Judges Annual Continuing Education Training on July 17. In 1984 the Alabama Judicial College and representatives of the Circuit and District Judges Associations started the continuing education certificate program.  As a judge, there is no requirement to acquire CLE credit; however the Alabama Judiciary has always recognized the importance of continuing legal education as a method of building a strong judicial system and being responsive to the citizens of the state.  The awards are presented in 100-hour increments, which must be obtained within a four-year period with programs conducted within the State of Alabama. Lovell has served as the presiding Circuit Judge for Butler, Crenshaw and Lowndes Counties since Jan. 1, 2011.  She serves on the Alabama Circuit Judges Association Education Committee. She is also a former president of the Alabama District Judges Association and a past president of the Association of Juvenile and Family Court Judges.  She has served as a judge in the Second Judicial Circuit for 15 years.
