The Alabama Sports Writers Association released their preseason football poll Wednesday, and one Butler County team found itself among the top 10 in its classification.
Fort Dale Academy, which finished its 2012 campaign with an 8-4 mark, enters the upcoming season ranked No. 6 in the AISA.
Fort Dale is ranked behind defending state champion Edgewood Academy, Clarke Prep, Tuscaloosa Academy, which bounced the Eagles from the postseason last year, Restoration Academy and Pickens Academy.
The Eagles, who will open their season Aug. 30 at home against Escambia, were the only team from Butler County to land in the preseason poll.
