Emmett and Robin Gomillion struck retail gold when they found the vacant Bonus Super Center Building to house their second flea market and mini mall.

The pair, who also own a store in Elba, are excited to be in Luverne and have already seen massive response from local interested in having a booth in the store.

In fact, the pair started off with 200 booths and was down to less than 30 on Friday.

“We’ve had an overwhelming response from the City of Luverne,” Emmett said. “Our vendors have everything from appliances to furniture and everything in between.”

The store, aptly called Second Chance II Flea Market and Mini Mall, will open June 22, and a grand opening celebration is planned for July 6. They will employ seven at the store.

Those interested in the remaining booths should act quickly. Cost is $1 per square foot and booths come in spaces of 10×10, 10×12, 12×10, 4×10 and 6×10. There is also a 10 percent commission fee that goes to the store.

Hours of operation will be Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.

“But if we have people in the building, we won’t cut the lights out,” Emmett said.

As an added bonus, the Gomillions will allow locals to set up outside Friday through Sunday for a small fee of $10 per day or $25 for a weekend pass.
