Lee-Scott Academy swept Fort Dale Academy from the AISA Class AAA playoffs on Thursday.

The Warriors won Game 1 of the series 12-2 in five innings before closing out the series with a 16-0 victory in five innings in Game 2.

Prior to the series, Fort Dale head coach Josh Beverly acknowledged that Lee-Scott was one of the top three teams in the state in his opinion.

“They have a lot of talent,” Beverly said. “They’re probably one of the top three teams in the state.”

The Warriors (23-5) looked the part on Thursday.

Lee-Scott hurlers Nick Constan and Carson Meadows combined to strike out 20 Fort Dale batters.

Fort Dale led the Warriors 2-0 in Game 1, but the lead was quickly erased by three Lee-Scott runs in the bottom of the first inning. A five-run third inning gave the Warriors a little breathing room.

The Warriors cruised in Game 2, scoring eight runs in the first three innings and eight runs in the fifth inning to close out the Eagles.

Fort Dale finished the season with a 15-12 mark.
