Rays slip past Braves in Dixie Minor action

The Rays edged the Braves 7-5 in Dixie Minor League action Monday thanks to two runs in the top of the final inning of play.

Sam Sherling led the Rays’ offensive charge with a 1-for-2 effort at the plate. He also scored a run.

Evan Johnson and Luke Stinson each scored two runs and Nate Richardson and Turner Patterson each scored a single run in the win.

Laquan Robinson, Dylan Smith and Trace Thomas were each 1-for-2 at the plate to lead the Braves. Smith also scored two runs, while Robinson, Tanner Disney and Laterrius Fore both scored a run in the loss.

Tigers 16, Red Sox 6

A four-run first inning helped power the Tigers to a 16-6 win over the Red Sox Monday in Dixie Minor League play at Day Memorial Park.

Davis Gaston, Jacob Foster and Channing Beverly each had two hits to pace the Tigers.

Gaston also scored three runs in the victory.

Dalton Daniels and Jacob Nichols also had a hit apiece in the win.

Damien Mount led the Red Sox with a 1-for-2 effort at the plate with a run scored.

Trey Little, Noah Pickens, Stephen Waggoner, Christopher Schofield and Ben Parker each scored a run for the Red Sox.

 

Dixie Youth

Orioles 6, Cardinals 5

The Orioles edged the Cardinals 6-5 Tuesday in Dixie Youth play at Day Memorial Park.

Jackson Blackmon paced the Orioles with a 2-for-2 effort. He also scored two runs.

Austin Williams was 1-for-2 with a run scored and Heath Crawford turned in a 1-for-2 effort in the win.

Daniel Palmer, Caleb Garrett and Ken Williams each scored a run for the Orioles.

Joshua Petty led the Cardinals with a 1-for-2 effort that included a run scored.

Treyton McGough, Willie Stewart, Aubrey Reeves and Gavin Huber each scored a run in the loss.

Mets 4, Yankees 3

The Mets topped the Yankess 4-3 Tuesday in a Dixie Youth League showdown at Day Memorial Park.

Taite Watson led the Mets with a 1-for-2 performance at the plate that included a run scored.

Trevor Heney scored two runs and Evan Clark scored a run for the Mets in the win.

Jamil Thompson, Trudale Williams and Cordale Powell each had a hit for the Yankees.

Thompson, Williams and Matthew Hood scored for the Yankees.

 

Dixie Darlings

Shockers 8, K’s Angels 8

The Shockers and K’s Angels played to an 8-8 tie Monday at the Greenville Softball Complex in a Dixie Darlings showdown.

Claire Campbell, Katie Winn, Ayana Felton and Skyler Bates were each 1-for-3 at the plate for the Shockers.

Beyonce Lloyd was 2-for-3 with a home run and a double for K’s Angels.

Jovala Ocean also homered for K’s Angels, while Cahley Acreman was 3-fr-3 with a triple and two singles and Nicole Lewis was 2-for-3 with a double and a single.

 

Dixie Angels

Diamond Dolls 21, Angel Katz 5

The Diamond Dolls cruised to a 21-5 win over the Angel Katz Monday in a Dixie Angels League matchup at the Greenville Softball Complex.

Makayla Coleman led the Diamond Dolls’ charge with a 1-for-2 effort that included a double and two runs scored.

Tynthia Bedgood was 1-for-2 with a run scored in the win, while Meizja Burnett homered and scored two runs for the Diamond Dolls.

D’Shontiana Stallworth scored three runs, and Catherine Pope, Deivion Simpson, Errionna Burnett, Kaitlyn Wallace and Tyhane Bedgood each scored two runs in the win.

Hannah Looney paced the Angel Katz with a 1-for-2 effort at the plate. Ashanti Davidson, Kendall Ward, Alex Haddox, Saranne Breau and Simaya Riley each scored a run in the loss.

Dynamites 17, S.W.A.T. 4

An eight-run second inning powered the Dynamites to a 17-4 win over S.W.A.T. Monday in Dixie Angles League action at the Greenville Softball Complex.

 

Dixie Ponytails

Diamond Divas 5, Dynamite 4

The Diamond Divas plated three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to edge the Dynamite 5-4 Monday in Dixie Ponytails League play at the Greenville Softball Complex.
