Basketball Roundup: Eagles top Patriots

Fort Dale Academy improved to 3-0 on the season with a 56-23 win over Pike Liberal Arts School on Tuesday night in Troy.
Three Eagles scored in double figures, led by Jack Bates.
Bates scored 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting and also pulled down seven rebounds.
Chip Taylor added 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while Taylor Windham scored 11 points on the strength of a 5-for-7 performance from the field.
As a team, the Eagles connected on 46 percent of their shots from the field.
Fort Dale also outrebounded the Patriots 38-11.
The Eagles will be back in action Monday when they host Macon-East Academy. Junior varsity play will begin at 4 p.m. with varsity action set to follow.
FDA downs PLAS
Theresa Scott scored 10 points to help lead FDA to a 34-16 win over Pike Liberal.
Mary Sanford Perdue scored nine points, Anne Matthews chipped in seven points, Nedra Toulmin Crosby added six points and Samantha Smith scored two points in the win.
With the win, FDA improved to 2-1.
GMS edges J.F. Shields
Destinee Smith scored 12 points to lead Greenville Middle School to a 32-28 win over J.F. Shields Middle School Thursday night.
Moeisha Brown scored eight points and Adrienna Taylor added seven points in the victory.
