Greenville High School will look to secure a winning record in Class 5A, Region 3 play Friday night when it hosts Sumter Central High School.
The Tigers currently own a 3-3 mark in region play after dropping a 17-13 decision to Saraland High School last week at Tiger Stadium. Friday’s showdown with the Jaguars is the final region contest of the season for the Tigers (3-5).
The Jaguars enter Friday’s game looking to snap a three-game losing streak. Sumter Central started the season 0-4 before scoring a 50-0 win over Class 3A Greene County on Sept. 28. Since then, the Jaguars (1-7) are winless.
Prior to the start of Friday’s game, Greenville High School will induct five members into its Hall of Fame.
At 6 p.m. former head coach Willis Wright and Greenville High School standouts Bobby Terrell, Doug Flowers, Alphonse Briggs and Terry McDonald will be honored along with Wright’s 1987 state championship team will be honored.
Kickoff for Friday’s game is set for 7 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
