Youthful Tigers look to snap four-game skid

McKenzie School will hit the road Friday night in search of its first win since the third week of the season.
The Tigers, who started 2-1, have dropped their last four games.
“We’re young,” McKenzie head coach Miles Brown said after last week’s 68-7 loss to No. 3 Brantley High School. “We’ve got some growing up to do, but I’m proud of our effort. We’re going to keep working and we’re going to get better.”
If McKenzie hopes to avoid its first five-game losing streak since 2005 when it finished the season 0-10, it must find a way to defeat a Florala High School team that has won two of its last three contests. In each of their wins, the Wildcats have scored 40 or more points.
Slowing down the Wildcats offense will be key. In their four losses this season, they have scored 12 or fewer points.
McKenzie (2-5, 2-3 Class 1A, Region 2) and Florala (3-4, 1-4 Class 1A, Region 2) will square off at 7 p.m. Friday night in Florala.
