Mary Lou Savage Patton

Sister Mary Lou Savage Patton was born November 15, 1930 to Fannie Lou and Arthur Savage, Jr.. Sister Mary Lou Patton was married to Deacon Earnest Patton, Jr., for 49 years, and to this union, seven children were born.
Two sons, Elton and Jimmie Patton, Greenville, AL, one grandson, Anthony Patton, for brothers, Willie, Lewis, Anderson and Lee Ernest Savage and two sisters, Annie Lee Jones and Inell Williams and a nephew, James Wilkie, who all preceded her in death.
She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at an early age in Greenville, AL. Sister Mary Lou Patton was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, in which she served faithfully, until the Lord called her home. For a number of years, Sister Patton was the secretary of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church for many years. Her hobbies were singing with the Seven Shape Singing Convention, The Patton Family Gospel Group for 17 years, fishing, baking and also cooking.
She leaves to mourn in her passing: Two sons, Henry Neal Patton, Pittsburgh, PA and George Earl Patton, Greenville, AL; three daughters, Irene Patton Ricketts, Birmingham, AL, Ilene Patton, Pittsburgh, PA and Dianne C. Patton, Birmingham, AL. Two sisters, Zola Mae Nelson, Brooklyn, NY and Betty L. (Rev. John) Boggan , Ocean Springs MS., seven grandchildren, Krystal, Ashley, Kyla, Andrea, Geoffrey, Neal, Jr., and Emmanuel Patton and one great-grandson, Emmanuel, Jr..
A very special cousin is Sis. Venell Peagler. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives. Her best friend is Sis. Rosie Lee Crenshaw.
Visitation will be on today from 12 to 8 p.m. with a family hour from 6 to7 at Hudson Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday June 7, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church with burial to follow in the churchyard cemetery.
