Pleasant Home pounds McKenzie

Fourteen McKenzie School errors and a strong pitching performance from Ashley Copeland helped power Pleasant Home High School to a 14-4 win against the Lady Tigers Tuesday in Pleasant Home.

Copeland fanned eight McKenzie batters in 4 and two-thirds innings of work.

“It was the worst game we have played all season,” McKenzie head coach Ezell Powell said.

Pleasant Home scored four runs in the first inning, four runs in the second, three runs in the fourth and three runs in the fifth inning.

McKenzie added one run in the fourth and three runs in the fifth.

“I was happy the girls didn’t quit,” Powell said. “We settled down and fought back.

McKenzie will be back in action Monday when it travels to Evergreen to take on Hillcrest High School. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
