Lowndes Academy spoiled the opening game at the Fort Dale Sportsplex.

The Lady Rebels routed the Lady Eagles 15-0 in a contest shortened by the mercy rule.

“Obviously, we are very disappointed not only for the loss, but because we lost our first game on our field,” Fort Dale head coach Scarlet Anderson said.

According to Anderson, errors continue to plague the Lady Eagles (1-3).

“Errors are what is hurting us,” she said. “We look good during practice and we stop everything in the infield and we catch the fly balls, but come game time something happens, and that’s when we make our mistakes. We need to reverse the roles.”

Fort Dale will be back in action Tuesday when it travels to Atmore to face Escambia Academy. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
