Straughn sweeps Greenville
Straughn High School swept a season-opening doubleheader from Greenville High School Monday afternoon in Andalusia.
Straughn claimed a 10-2 victory in the opener of the two-game tilt before completing the sweep with an 11-2 win in the finale.
Mistakes proved costly for the Tigers, according to first-year head coach Evan Kelley.
“We had too many walks, we struck out too many times and we made too many errors,” Kelley said.
Statistics from the game were not available.
Greenville (0-2) will be back in action Tuesday when it takes on in-county rival McKenzie School. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at Greenville’s Beeland Park.
