Georgiana School found itself in unfamiliar territory Thursday – unranked.

For the first time this season, the Panthers are not among the top 10 teams in Class 1A in the Alabama Sports Writers Association prep basketball poll, which was released on Thursday.

The Panthers (14-4) dropped all the way out of the poll after being ranked No. 4 just a week earlier. Georgiana was listed among the “others nominated.”

Another Butler County school also dropped in the poll. Fort Dale Academy (13-3), which was ranked No. 8 in the AISA in last week’s poll, fell to No. 9 in the latest poll.
