It’s not that Georgiana School head coach Kirk Norris is hard to please.

It’s just that he has high expectations.

It’s those expectations that left the Panthers’ head coach a little disappointed after Tuesday night’s 56-35 win against in-county rival McKenzie.

“It was good to get a region win, especially on the road in a rivalry game. I didn’t think we played nearly as well as we are capable (of playing),” Norris said. “We’re going to look to continue to improve as we continue in area play.”

The fourth-ranked Panthers (14-4, 1-1) were led by Keon Binion’s 18 points. Adrian Rich added 17 and Rickey Everett chipped in 10.

Norris was pleased with the play of his substitutes after several starters got into early foul trouble.

“We got good contributions from our bench when several of our starters got in foul trouble early,” he said.

McKenzie’s Tadarius Gill led all scorers with 22 points.

Georgiana will play host to Brantley Friday. B-Team action begins at 4:30 p.m. with varsity action scheduled to follow.
