Eagles snap skid

Fort Dale Academy snapped a three-game losing streak with a 57-41 win against Northside Methodist Academy Monday night in Dothan.

The Eagles (5-3, 1-0 Class AAA, Region 1, Area 1) connected on 24-of-56 attempts from the field and 6-of-20 attempts from beyond the arc en route to earning their first area win of the season.

The Eagles blew open a close game by outpacing the Knights 25-15 in the second half to stretch a six-point lead to 16-point victory.

Tyler Millo led Fort Dale’s charge with 13 points.

Wesley Scott and Cam Norman also tallied double figures for the Eagles, scoring 11 points and 10 points, respectively. Chip Taylor added nine in the win.

 

CCA 53, FDA 51

Crenshaw Christian Academy slipped past Fort Dale 53-51 Saturday.

The Cougars shot 47.8 percent from the field (22-of-46), while limiting the Eagles to 15-of-56 shooting from the field (26.8 percent).

Millo led Fort Dale with 15 points, while Taylor added 12.

 

LSA 52, FDA 43

A second-half rally powered Lee-Scott Academy to a 52-43 win against Fort Dale on Friday.

The Eagles held a slim 22-20 lead at the half, but the Warriors outpaced Fort Dale 18-6 in the third period to seize control of the game.

The Eagles connected on just 30.8 percent of their shots in the loss, including a 1-for-10 effort from behind the three-point arc. The Warriors connected on 20 of their 54 attempts.

Millo scored 15 points to lead the Eagles. Taylor added 12 and Scott chipped in six.

Fort Dale will be back in action Friday when it hosts the FDA Christmas Tournament.

Morgan Academy, Sparta Academy and Escambia Academy will be participating in the tournament.

Fort Dale will face Morgan at 6:30 p.m.
