Smith to play for national title

East Mississippi Community College freshman Za’Darius Smith recorded two tackles in the Lions’ 42-17 win against Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Nov. 12 in the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges championship game. The former Greenville High School standout has tallied 14 tackles this season, including three sacks, in helping the Lions to an 11-0 record. Smith and the second-ranked Lions will be playing in the 2011 NJCAA Football National Championship Game against top-ranked Arizona Western College in the El Toro Bowl Dec. 3 in Yuma, Ariz.
