SPECIAL TO THE ADVOCATE

Fort Dale Academy scored on its first three possessions en route to a 24-8 victory against Morgan Academy   Tuesday night in junior varsity action.

The win avenged a loss to the Senators earlier this season.

After receiving the opening kickoff, the Eagles drove to the Morgan 46-yard line.  From there, freshman quarterback Daniel Hall Autrey connected with Austin Vickery on a scoring strike.  Autrey ran the two point conversion in and the Eagles led 8-0.

The Senators were stuffed by Tyler Gibson, Colby Stone and the Fort Dale defense.  After a Morgan punt, the Eagles drove again, mostly on running plays by Autrey, Vickery, and Caleb Whigham.  Autrey ran for the touchdown and passed to Whigham for the two-point conversion for a 16-0 Eagles advantage.

When Fort Dale got the ball back, Vickery and Autrey switched offensive positions and this time it was Vickery pushing in for the score from the 1-yard line.  He passed to wide receiver Stephen Hartley for the two-point conversion to cap the scoring for the Eagles.

Along with Gibson and Stone, Keaton Fleming, John Chambliss, and Joseph Peavey anchored the impressive Fort Dale defensive effort.

The Eagles will travel to Lowndes Academy Monday night.
