The 13th annual Corstone Pro-Law Am Golf Tournament will be held Wednesday.
The event, which will be played in a four-person scramble format, will be held at Cambrian Ridge and will raise funds for the Safe Harbor and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 39.
The entry fee is $100 per person and includes a cart, range balls, door prizes and dinner following the tournament.
Prior to the start of the tournament, a golf ball drop will be held at Cambrian Ridge.
“The golf ball drop is a great way for people who don’t play golf to support these organizations,” Mark Harold, president of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 39, said. “It’s a fun event and I’d encourage everyone to come out and get involved.”
For $10 a ball can be purchased. At 12:30 p.m. all the golf balls will be loaded into a Dale County Sheriff’s Department helicopter. The helicopter will fly over the driving range and release the balls. If a ball lands in the hole, the owner of that ball will receive $1,000. If there is a not a golf ball that lands in the hole, the owner of the golf ball closest to the pin will receive $500.
The winner does not have to be present to receive the prize.
Registration for the golf tournament begins at 11:30 a.m. A shotgun start is slated for 1 p.m.
