Panthers looking for different result in 2011

Georgiana School’s 2011 schedule mirrors its schedule from a season ago.
While the names on the schedule remain the same, first-year head coach David Watts and the Panthers are hoping for very different results.
In 2010, the Panthers managed just one win and had a mid-season coaching change after Shawn Gregory was dismissed following a 0-6 start.
Georgiana Athletics Director Kirk Norris coached the team’s final four games and led the Panthers to a 48-22 win against region-rival J.F. Shields in Week 9.
In order to finish with a winning record in 2011, the Panthers will have to find a way to win on the road.
The second half of the Panthers’ schedule, and arguably the most difficult given those five opponents combined to win 29 games last season, will see Georgiana play three of five games away from home.
The toughest test during that stretch may very well be in-county rival McKenzie, which posted a 10-1 mark last season that included a 72-6 win against Georgiana.
This season, the Panthers will play four of their first six games at Harmond Field, including a region contest with Geneva County and games with Class 3A Luverne and Class 2A Highland Home.
