A meth lab bust near Glenwood last week resulted in four arrests and intervention by DHR to take custody of four children.

Richard Thomas Stuckey Jr., 33, was charged with second degree manufacture of a controlled substance, first degree possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child, and Nancy Lynn Zuidhoek, 26, was also charged with second degree manufacture of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child.

June Lynn Parker, 36, was charged with second degree manufacture of a controlled substance, and Richard Stuckey Sr., 57, was charged with second degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Drug Task Force agent and Deputy Mason Adcock said he was contacted by the Luverne Police Department on July 13 and given information that three of the suspects were purchasing supplies for meth.

Last week, Adcock received additional information from CCSO investigator Ronnie White and the Department of Human Resources about meth being cooked on Jones Bridge Road near Glenwood.

While executing a search warrant, officers discovered numerous items of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana.

“We also found a meth lab in the back yard,” Adcock said.

There were also four children at home between the ages of 1 and 11.

DHR took the children into custody, and they will be placed into foster homes pending a hearing.

“It was a great multi-agency effort between the Luverne Police Department, Second Judicial Circuit Drug Taskforce and Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office,” Adcock said.
