Lewis takes title, FDA teams place at state

Fort Dale Academy’s Mitchell Lewis won a state title as the Eagles’ boys and girls tennis teams each placed in the AISA tournament at Lagoon Park this week.

The varsity boys finished third place overall, while the varsity girls team finished as runner up in the state competition.

Notables in varsity girls singles include: No. 1 seed Anne Matthews, runner up; No. 2 seed Taylor Autrey, runner up; and No. 5 seed Lauren Lewis, runner up.

Finalists in varsity girls doubles matches include: No. 1 team Anne Matthews and Taylor Autrey, runner up; and No. 2 team Kennedy Harris and Ashton Scott, runner up.

Varisty boys singles results include: No. 4 seed Mitchell Lewis, state champion; and No. 5 seed Cody Tesmer, runner up.
