Rosie Ann Womack

Rosie Ann Womack, age 89, of Greenville, was carried away on the wings of angels to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011.
“Miss” Rosie’s homecoming celebration will be Wed., Jan. 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Lomax-Hannon Gymnatorium, 725 S. Conecuh St. in Greenville, with presiding elder Eziekial Washington of the Greenville District providing the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Sweet Home Cemetery on Forest Home Road.
She was a faithful member of Popular Springs AME Zion Church, where the Rev. Robert Jackson is pastor. She was a sister of #707 Morning Glory Eastern Star, a devoted district officer of the Life Member Council WHEOM Society, and a member of the Connectional Lay Council of the AME Zion Church. Mrs. Womack was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, a true friend and a lover of people.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Walter Lee Womack; her son, Walter Lee Womack Jr. and daughters, Maxine Hill and Barbara Ann Fields.
Mrs. Womack leaves to cherish her memory five children: Curtis E. Womack and wife, Philadelphia. Nathaniel Womack and wife, Emma M., Clewiston, Fla., Ada J. Womack, Bonner and husband, Morris D., Birmingham, Ala., Willie T. Womack and wife, Patricia, Atlanta, Ga., Rose Marie Womack, Greenville and a loving and faithful daughter-in-law, Gracie Womack, Greenville; 21 grandchildren: Falecia Henry, Dale and Curtis Jr. Womack, Philadelphia, Pa., Frederick and Quinton Womack, Clewiston, Fla., Veronica Womack, Milledgeville, Ga., Vanessa Womack, Dukes, Bessemer, Walter L. Womack III, Helena, Dwayne L. Parker, Montgomery, Cynthia and Sonia Steele, Cleveland, Ohio, Tonelle Mack, Selma, Willie J. and Sharmaine Rhodes, Greenville, Shontae Collins, Greenville, Apostle D.J. Womack, Ozark, Willie T. Womack Jr., Johnathon and Aneka Womack, Atlanta, Ga., Roderick, Rosena and Eric Womack, Atlanta; 43 precious great-great-grandchildren and a host of loving relatives and friends.
