The Greenville Middle School Tigers went 6-1 during a Jamboree held Saturday in Wetumpka.
The Tigers’ seventh grade team was 2-1 in the tournament, beating both Wetumpka and Eclectic. The lone loss was to Benjamin Russell. Chardarious Davison caught three touchdown passes for the seventh graders. Dequarious Peterson led the ground game.
Allen Smith came in and played relief for starting QB Jeremy Lewis, who injured his hamstring on the game’s second play, said head coach Josh McLendon.
“He did a great job,” said McLendon. “He also played well as a back-up for the eighth graders.”
The eighth graders beat Holtville, Trinity, Wetumpka and Bellengrath.
The Tigers scored 100 points, while giving up only 28 in four games.
“There’s still a lot of room for improvement after watching the film,” said McLendon.
