Final Hank Fest tallies postponed until early July
The final tallies from the recent Hank Williams Festival won’t be in for another week to two weeks, according to the city clerk’s office in Georgiana.
City clerk Ann Browder has been on vacation since June 17 and won’t return to work until June 28, says assistant city clerk Sherri Paige.
“She’s getting a well-deserved rest,” Paige said.
Paige said she didn’t expect the “number crunching” to be completed until after the first of July. Overall attendance at Hank Fest seemed to be down, with blistering heat and the continued recession seen as the biggest culprits.
The next Georgiana City Council meeting is set for 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 6 at the meeting room in downtown Georgiana. Following the regular meeting, the public is invited to share their questions and concerns with Mayor Mike Middleton and the city council.
