Rutledge homecoming to proceed as planned

Rain may be on the way, but it shouldn’t dampen this weekend’s Rutledge Homecoming event.
Forecasts call for rain to move in tonight, and the chance of rain is 70 percent for tomorrow.
Despite that, coordinator Beth Rogers said they have plans in place to keep things on schedule in Rutledge.
“If it rains, we’ll move the singers and the beauty pageant inside the community center,” she said. “We’ve got a big tent at the church that vendors can move to, and we’re also looking at a makeup date for the car and truck show if we have to.”
The storms are expected to clear up for Sunday’s church service and afternoon festivities.
